The Art of Make-up

Author: Susan Christy

These are the cosmetics used for makeup.

1. Foundation: This is used to give the skin an even
tone. It neutralizes red cheeks, broken veins and freckles. It
is very useful if make-up is to look very effective. It provides
the base for all other make-up and makes their application quite
easier. It is very essential to keep in mind that the main
purpose of a foundation is to even out natural skins tone and
not to change the colour of the skin. Foundation is available in
either liquid, cream or solid form.

2. Face Powder: This is used to set the foundation
which would otherwise within 2-3 hours, slide off the skin. Face
powder is the essential finishing touch to all make-up. It also
gives staying power to lipstick and prevents cream blusher and
eye shadow from creasing. Face powder is available either in a
loose from or in a compressed form.

3. Concealers: These are required to 'blot' out dark
shadows under eyes, broken veins, high cheek colour, blemishes
etc. Concealers come in sticks or as thick cream and are
generally applied before foundation.

4. Blush: This is the first of the color cosmetics
that you apply to your face and one of the most flattering Its
main purpose is to accentuate the cheek bones and to add colour
and warmth to the skin. Blushers come in a variety of colours
and shades in a wide thrice of textures as well.

5. Eyebrow colour: This is used to add colour to the
eyebrows. These colours are either in the form of a pencil or a
powder.

6. Eye -Shadows: These are used to give colour,
definition and shape to the eyes.

7. Lipstick: This is used to balance the made-up face
and to emphasize the mouth. Nowadays, lipsticks have a much
softer texture. Lipsticks can be used directly on the lips but
it is difficult to achieve a clean outline this way. It is thus
better to take the lipstick off the stick with a lip brush.

8. Highlighter: This is generally used for dramatic
effects to give a flattering 'lift' to a face.It is used on the
browline, top of the cheekbone and the top line centre. The
colours are light cream or white and are available either in the
powder or cream form.

9. Shaders and Contours: Shaders are always brown and
are used around the face to give a slimming effect. Contours are
generally brown and are used under the cheekbone, to give a
hollow look. The key to successful application for shaders and
contours is a very light touch.

10. Mascara: This is used to emphasize eyes further by
adding colour, thickness and sometimes even length to lashes.

How To Use Eye Shadow Like The Stars

Author: Marcia Cox
Most people feel they have some basic flaws with their
appearance, and the truth is that the stars are no exception.
Beauties like Angelina Jolie and Beyonce Knowles make no secret
of their use of various make-up styles to enhance their
appearance, and both of these ladies make splendid use of eye
shadow. Eye shadow is designed to attract attention to a
person's eyes (yes, male movie stars use it too!) and at the
same time enhances the appearance of the eyes by detracting
attention from or covering up minor flaws. Here are some tips on
how to apply eye shadow in order that it fixes some of the flaws
you may believe are there.

To maximize the effect of your eye shadow, you will want to make
sure that people are aware that you have it on. Some beauty
experts suggest "priming" your eyes before applying the shadow.
The eye lids are a lighter shade than the skin on the rest of
the face, due mainly to their lessened exposure to light overt
the course of a lifetime. A layer of bone shadow over your lids
will even up the coloring with the rest of the face, and any
color you apply on top of that will tend to stand out.

Next, experiment with several shades before you decide on the
right one for you. A bronze colored eye shadow works for most
eyes, and other shades will depend on the color of your own
eyes. Blue eyes, for example, will be best complemented with a
deeper shade of blue (this will make your own eye color pop out
and look extra blue), taupe, violet, or gray. Lighter shades and
contrasts work great for brown eyes, while green eyes are
bedazzling with the similar shades that are slightly deeper.

Don't be afraid to try a funky look with your eye shadow.
Silvery, sparkly colors can look great and will have an
undeniably exotic appeal. Try to match your scheme with your eye
color or outfit, and make sure you get some good feedback before
trying it out in public!

Finally, there are several techniques that can be used in order
to correct the minor flaws you may see in the appearance of your
eyes. If you think your eyes are too far apart, you can make
them appear closer together by emphasizing the inner corner of
your eye. Put more shadow on this area and blend it outwards
towards the rest of the eye. Eyes that are too close together
can gain the impression of distance by darkening the outer edges
of your eye and keeping the inner corners light. Again, make
sure to blend the colors so that the emphasis is not apparent.
If you want your eyes to look bigger, use a lighter color of eye
shadow.

Eye shadow is a great way to change your appearance with a
multi-use product that does not cost too much and whose
application can be mastered by most individuals. Keep you eyes
noticeable, and you will be noticed!

How To Apply Makeup For Everyday Wear

Author: Jennifer Puffer
One of the questions women most frequently have regarding makeup
is how to apply makeup for everyday wear. The key to applying
makeup for everyday wear is do so in a way that does not look
like you are wearing makeup at all. Everyday makeup applications
should apply the principle of subtlety and moderation.

Before starting be sure to wash your face and apply a
moisturizer to help your foundation glide on evenly. Choosing
the right colors for your eyes is equally as important.
Depending on the time of day or the function you are attending
will help you decide which types of shades you should be using.
Subtlety is very important in how to apply makeup for everyday
wear. While special occasions may require a more dramatic look,
everyday wear lends itself more to subtle makeup applications
that enhance your best features while simultaneously minimizing
your undesirable features. For everyday wear you want to apply
your makeup in a way that is not obvious but does improve your
appearance. Using complementary shades that work well with your
skin tones are some of the best ways to create a subtle yet
beautiful appearance.

Knowing how to apply makeup for everyday wear also requires the
principle of moderation. Again nighttime activities or special
occasions may present the opportunity to use an abundance of
makeup to create a more dramatic look but this is not attractive
if used during inappropriate occasions such as running errands
during the day. You may wish to use several products such as
mascara, eye liner, eye shadow, lip liner, lipstick and blush
but it's important to not go over the top with any of these
products and use it excessively.

Women's Beauty Tips: 5 Surprising Ways Women In Their 30's, 40's, and Beyond Can Appear More Beautiful

Author: Stephanie Pedersen
As you probably know, beauty is anything but basic. There's an
element of mystery, even "acting" about it. Here are my top 5
beauty secrets for Women in their 30's, 40's and beyond:

1. Tell yourself you're beautiful and keep telling
yourself until you believe it! Humans not only perceive, but are
also influenced by, each other's feelings. If people sense your
self-hatred, there's a good chance they'll see you the way you
subconsciously tell them to see you.

2. Rethink your foundation. Literally nothing ages you as
quickly as the wrong foundation. Wearing a shade that is too
pale, too pink, too orange, too dark too anything, really can
actually exaggerate the scars, blemishes and spots you are
trying to hide. Plus, the wrong color can make you look
lifeless, while simultaneously accentuating wrinkles and
furrows. Head for a cosmetics counter such as Prescriptives, or
Becca, which specialize in finding the perfect shade and formula
for your skin. This isn't a splurge, it's a necessity.

3. Stand up straight! Slouching sends the subconscious
message that you are trying to hide. People won't see you as a
great beauty if it appears you'd rather not be noticed. Further,
slouching alters your gorgeous body and makes it look misshapen
and lumpy. Stand up straight and your clothing will hang better,
you'll look thinner, and people will treat you with more
respect. Try it and see! (Your mother will be so happy!)

4. Don't wear eye makeup near your lower lashes. Mascara
on your lower lashes can smudge into the surrounding skin,
making the eyes look smaller, creating the appearance of
undereye circles or bags, and giving eyes a fatigued look. So
can eyeliner worn on your lower lids. Instead, concentrate on
loading upper lashes with mascara. If you use liner, concentrate
on the upper lid only.

5. Don't fidget. Beauty is about self-assuredness and
poise. Fidgeting makes you appear flighty and nervous. It
typically takes 21 days to break a habit. If you're a wiggler,
make a conscious effort to reduce squirming for three weeks and
see what happens.

Throughout history there have been beauties who could have
been deemed too unusual, too plain, too ugly, too something to
be beautiful. Yet these smart ladies have ignored what society
says is beautiful. They realize that to stand apart they must
celebrate their own unique looks. In other words, make yourself
beautiful and you'll be seen as beautiful.

Little Known Secrets Of Beauty Salons

Author: Sintilia Miecevole
This article was written to answer many of the most frequently
asked questions about beauty salons and hair stylists. I hope
you find this information helpful. I begin with a story that I'm
sure, speaks for many:

I'll never forget how humiliated I was when I walked out of a
beauty salon with my embarrassed husband in tow, slinking all
the way through a mall just to get to our car and hide.....I
couldn't get out there fast enough! I immediately went home and
washed my hair out and did it again. Color, cut and styling was
a complete disaster! It was my first visit to a new beauty
salon. I thought I had asked the right questions such as, "Is
there a stylist there with experience working with natural curly
hair?" Of course the answer was, "Yes." I learned the person
with experience was just out of school and this was her first
job.

Have you gone through a similar experience? As a client, we
expect to leave the beauty salon with a smile on our face, feel
beautiful and be excited about our experience. It is my hope
that similar situations can be prevented with a few tips:

- If you admire someone elses hair, ask them the name of their
beauty salon and stylist. If not, then

- Is the beauty salon easy to get to from home or work?

- Inquire if the stylists have experience with your type of
hair. For example, is your hair long, curly or straight.

- You can find reviews on the internet of beauty salons in your
area by zip codes.

- How do you feel when you enter a beauty salon? Are you greeted
right away? Is the salon clean and inviting?

- Are the staff dressed appropriately? Do they take care of
their hair?

- You can provide pictures of hair styles you like to the
stylist. There are also hairstyle magazines in all salons for
you to check out.

- Do you enjoy being with your stylist?

- Does the stylist ask you what you would like and offer
suggestions?

- Does the stylist discuss shampoos, conditioners or special
treatments that would improve the health of your hair?

- Now you're all ready for "the look." Does the stylist give you
the information you'll need on how to maintain that style once
you leave the salon?

If you can answer most of the questions to your satisfaction,
then you've probably found a beauty salon and a hair stylist
that will make you look fabulous. If not, get all of your
information from the next beauty salon on your list. There is a
talented hair stylist waiting just for you!

We have come to the end of my informational article. It's now
your turn to take this information and do something with it and
then you can have a good hair day! Good luck and thanks for
visiting.

Makeup 101 for Glamour Models

Author: Bob Pardue
How to apply makeup for glamour photo sessions This report is
for those teens and women who want to look their best in
pictures whether preparing for a model photo shoot or just to
take some really great portraits or glamour shots.

You'll find step by step information about what makeup to use,
how to apply makeup, and what not to do when preparing makeup
for photo sessions. Enjoy and look your best!

The difference between "street" makeup and "camera" makeup

Most women know how to apply makeup for everyday use but there
are a few differences in applying makeup for photos; especially
glamour. If you follow the tips below, you will be on your way
to better glamour pictures.

The key is to simply fix your face as if you were going out for
the evening, wearing more than for daytime use, extra contrast
and especially more powder. Did I mention More Powder?

Wear makeup a little heavier

To achieve that natural look in your glamour portrait, apply a
little more makeup than you would in your daily activities and
even more than you would if you were going out for the evening.
You will probably think you that you are wearing too much makeup
but remember that the lights take away from whatever amount of
makeup you have on so don't worry.

How do you achieve this look?

Follow the simple makeup steps listed here and, with a little
practice, you should be able to get the results you're after.

The first step is to moisturize your face thoroughly and then
begin with concealer. The concealer you use for photos should
be 2 or 3 shades lighter than your skin tone. Concealer is used
to hide blemishes, lighten your eyes and used if there is any
discoloration around the lip area.

Next, use a solid foundation evenly applied over the face. This
part is very simple but is misunderstood by even some makeup
artists. Match the foundation to your chin and neckline. You
don't want a sudden change of color in your makeup from your
face to the neck or upper chest. I've even heard of some makeup
artists applying makeup to the neck and shoulders! There is no
need to do this if you follow the rule of matching from the face
to the neck.

After your makeup foundation is finished, just apply the rest of
your makeup as you normally do but in heavier amounts for the
camera.

Powder! Powder! Powder!

Be sure not to forget the powder! If you've ever seen makeup
applied for TV or the movies, the makeup artist is almost always
patting the face with the powder applicator. Ever wonder why?
Because powder, and lots of it, is absolutely essential to
gaining that beautiful mat finish which is always present in a
great portrait. Even if you've never used powder in your life,
please use it for just this once during your portrait session.
Powder many times makes the difference between a beautiful
portrait and just a portrait. Bringing out the cheeks with makeup

Now that I've driven home the importance of powder, apply makeup
below your cheekbone and under chin to create an oval look to
the face. Be sure to blend in and not create distinct lines.
Apply this makeup a little darker but not too heavy.

Lip Color

Choosing your lip color and application: Make sure that your lip
gloss is a solid color and about one shade deeper than you
normally wear it. Use a lip liner that is the same color as
your lipstick, please, please DO NOT WEAR BLACK! Also, try to
avoid frosted lip colors entirely because they hardly show up on
film and will give the illusion that you are not wearing lip
color at all.

Apply your blush and eye make-up a little heavier than normal but
neatly and precisely.

For best results, eye liner should be applied starting from the
outside of the lower part of the eye and extending about 3/4
length toward the inner part. Really work on those eyes and
lips. These are the two key features in glamour photography. Use
eye shadow which is a lighter shade rather than darker so that
the eyes appear more alive. Apply eye shadow to the upper eye
lid and above the eye just below the eyebrow. When a darker
shade is used in this area it will create a darkening of the
eyes and give the appearance of a sleepless night which is not
very appealing. Using a light shadow will produce the best
results.

Take your makeup with you

Last, but not least, take your makeup case with you to your
photo session. You may need to touch up during the shoot and
will most likely need to add powder as your session advances.

If you follow these simple steps for applying makeup you are
more likely to be happy with your photographs. Makeup complaints

Most makeup complaints come when women have someone else apply
their makeup for them. You are more experienced in applying
your own makeup and, if you follow these instructions, you
should be more than happy with your results. To make your photo
session go smoother and faster, please apply your makeup before
leaving home for the session.

Hopefully, you have found some interesting and helpful
information about how to apply makeup for pictures. It is my aim
that you look and feel the best you possibly can by having your
makeup look professional before going to your glamour or
portrait photo session.

Makeup Bag Secrets of the Celebrities

Author: Sher Matsen
Have you ever wondered why celebrities seem to look gorgeous no
matter where they are and no matter what the moment? Are they
prettier than the rest of us so it's easy for them? Not at all -
they are just smarter about what their makeup bag holds. Read on
for makeup bag secrets of the celebrities.

Celebrities will tell you having their makeup at their
fingertips is their number one priority and it should be for
every woman. That's not to say you have to pack around 50 pounds
of makeup. Just a tube of lipstick can do a lot to freshen your
face. Actresses like Sandra Bullock, Jennifer Anniston, or
Angelina Jole will all tell you that the ultimate makeup bag is
really no secret at all. You can buy fashionable and trendy
makeup bags ranging in size from compact to purse size so even
your makeup back can make a fashion statement. But lets face it.
It's what we put in it the makeup bag that really counts. And
why is it no matter what size your makeup bag is, it seems to be
too small or the makeup you most need at the moment doesn't
appear to have made it into the bag? It's time solve that
problem by putting together the makeup bag of the celebrities
with all their secrets.

Your makeup bag is really a matter of your personal taste.
Choose one that grabs your attention, fits your personality and
fits your purse. There's no sense buying a huge makeup bag when
you pack a tiny purse. You can buy discount bags for as little
as $5.00 or designer makeup bags for as much as $100.00.

The Celebrity makeup bag is based on the assumption that your
makeup bag is small to medium in size. For those that have a
tinier bag you'll have to choose which items to remove. For
those packing a large bag, add all the extras that will fit.

The celebrities tell us the most important thing you need to put
in your bag is a small double sided compact mirror. You can
purchase a nice size travel mirror complete with protective
cover for around $5.00.

The next most important tool for the celebrities are the makeup
brushes. Make sure you have a blush and eyeshadow brush in your
bag. Or you can purchase a compact set of miniature brushed for
around $10.00. That will ensure you'll have every brush you need.

Now to the makeup. Jennifer Aniston says your foundation or
powder is the absolute most essential makeup bag requirement. If
the original container is too large, then purchase a compact
bottle or transfer some to an after market container that seals
well. Angela Jole won't leave home without her favorite
lipstick. Pick only one or your bags going to get full too fast.
Remember your building a compact version of your real makeup
case. You can add a lip gloss if you like. Eyeshadow is also a
must have for touchup. Choose a palette of colors you can wear
or use anytime. There is no good way to pack a variety of
colors, so it's best to choose your most reliable colors. And
for heavens sake don't' forget to add mascara and eyeliner.

According to the stars you also need to make sure you have your
blush. Now this can be a bit trickier because the containers are
a bit big. Best to look for a flat compact style blush. To keep
you fresh, you can also add some prepackaged facial cleansing
cloths, a travel toothbrush and toothpaste, and a travel size
deodorant.

That's it, you know now the makeup bag secrets of the
celebrities . All the basics, to get you through the day and
have you looking gorgeous. So what was the big secret?

Need to Look Your Best in a Hurry? Tips for a Quick and Polished Look!

Author: Charlotte Maddox
Need to look your best in a hurry? Start with your face: it's
your "canvas."

Two ways to improve your appearance quickly are to get the glow
of healthy skin and then create a "polished" look.

Have a little extra time the night before your event? Eliminate
the buildup of dead surface cells that dull skin with a mask or
microdermabrasion (use the right products for your skin type and
special needs). Replenish moisture lost during the
super-cleansing by hydrating your skin thoroughly. Define
"fuzzy" lines, like your eyebrows, by shaping them to complement
your face.

On the day of your event, cleanse, freshen (or tone), and
moisturize your face and eye areas; foundation and makeup go on
more smoothly and evenly over well-hydrated skin. Since the eye
areas don't produce their own moisture, use an eye cream; it's
specially formulated for that delicate skin. Moisturizers for
the face tend to have humectants which can puff up the skin
around the eyes.

Foundation and powder: Apply concealer, if necessary, and
foundation. Then "finish" your face with powder. Powder "sets"
the foundation so it lasts longer with less need for touch ups.

Eye primer: Put on eye primer or dust powder over your
eyelids. Both provide a base for eye color so the color goes on
evenly and stays in place longer without creasing and smudging.

Eye color: The simplest approach to eye color is to apply
a neutral or soft shade (from the upper lashes to the brows)
which will enhance or "pop" another color placed over it. Almost
as easy is another technique using two colors. Follow the eye
primer with a single color from lash to brow. Then apply a
second stronger (or darker) color over the lids and into the
creases to complement the shape of your eyes. If you're getting
ready for an evening event, be more dramatic than for an event
during the day.

Eye liner: Line the eyes if it enhances them, staying
close to the lash lines.

Mascara: To make your eye lashes appear thicker and
longer, start with the wand close to the eyes and then wiggle
the wand back and forth as you move it away from your eyes. To
really "open" your eyes, use an eyelash curler.

Eyebrows: A simple and natural way to emphasize the
eyebrows is to brush them with a matching shade of eye color and
then set the color with a gel. The gel also helps emphasize and
maintain the shape of your brows.

Cheek color:For your cheek color, either smile and apply
blush to the apples of your cheeks or sweep it up along your
cheek bones starting two fingers away from your nose and
stopping at your temples. Then blend the color gently.

Lip liner, lipstick, lip gloss: If color 'bleeding' is a
problem, run a lip outliner pencil along the outer edges of your
lips. Define your lips with a lip liner, fill in color with a
lipstick and polish with gloss.

You're done ... your canvas is now a "work of art!"

Eyeshadow Essentials To Make Your Eyes Stand Out

Author: Julia Brown
When it comes to makeup, eyeshadow is perhaps the trickiest
product to apply. This is because the eyes have no real
limitations. According to the makeup experts, each shape you
create using eyeshadows can take you to different realms.
Indeed, it was black kohl that transformed Elizabeth Taylor into
Cleopatra and Audrey Hepburn into Holly Golightly. Eyeshadows do
not only make your eyes look bigger, they can also add drama and
draw attention to your eyes. However, it is one of the trickiest
makeup products to apply, which explains why women do not wear
it as often as lipstick. Drawing a perfect shade may often take
some practice, but with a few expert tips and techniques, you
can do it in no time.

1. Select the correct eyeshadow form

Eyeshadow comes in several formulations, each with a unique
finish and level of difficulty. Matte eyeshadows blend easily
and are perfect for beginners, as they can be both used for
creating a soft daytime look or a heavy smoky eye. If you are
not so much into eyeliners, you can opt for powder eyeshadows
that can also be used as eyeliner, as long as the color is
densely pigmented. Used in tandem with a fine-tipped brush,
powder eyeshadow gives the softest, most natural look.

2. Getting the natural look

For soft definition, choose a powder matte eyeshadow. Choose
those that are neutral in colors because these are the finest
for all eye colors. The best neutral colors to choose are taupe,
beige, muted wines, ivory, charcoal, browns, and grays. It is
best to choose a medium eyeshadow. These types of eyeshadows are
light enough, hence they do not need massive blending. For those
who have dark eye colors, browns are the best shades to use in
order to bring out the eye color, making it more intensified and
defined.

3. Consider your color options

The safest way to go is with brown or black, but new options
include other colors such as gray, charcoal, metallics, or even
bright dashes of color like green, blue, or turquoise, as seen
on the usual summer collections. Smoke or charcoal gives a
softer look than black does. Dark green shades goes well with
almost all complexions. For those who have complexions with
narrower eyes, metallic shades are the best. When applied on the
eyes, a metallic shade like silver or gold can make the eyes
look bigger and more wide-awake. You can contrast this with a
different shade of eyeshadow like green with bronze, silver with
white, or go monochromatic by using lighter tones of the same
color family as your eyeliner.

4. The skin tone test

When choosing the best eyeshadow, it is best if you consider
your skin tone first. Usually, there are eyeshadows that do not
blend well with one's skin complexion. Hence, it is important to
consider them when choosing eyeshadows.

For example, women who have dark skin complexions, it would be
better if you choose darker shades of eye shadows. Choosing
lighter shades like pebbles would only make your eyes look dusty.

5. The rule of thumb

Before you buy your eyeshadows, it is best to remember that dark
colors tend to make the eyes appear to diminish in size. On the
other hand, light colors bring your eyes out into the open. The
rule of thumb when choosing the best shades of eyeshadow is to
select those that will bring definition into your eyes. In
reality, eyeshadows are made to reshape the eyes or any part
that surrounds it like the browbone section and the eyelids.

6. High definition

It is best to smudge a soft brown eyeshadow on the lid for a
wide-eyed look. If you want more intensity, smudge the eyes with
darker shades starting from the center of the lid then outwards
to make eyes look bigger.

7. Limit the colors

When choosing eyeshadows, it is best not buy too many shades,
even if they are just neutral colors. Using them all together
will be very distracting. Best of all, do not buy eyeshadows
that will draw too much attention to your makeup as well as your
lids. In the end, your eyes will be taken for granted.
Therefore, it is better to not choose shades of pastel colors
and those that are frosted. Indeed, choosing the best shades for
your eyes can be very tedious and needs more practice but in
time, you will soon be expert on it. In the end, projection
high-definition eyes will be a breeze.

How To Use Make Up As A Fashion Accessory

Author: Maria Llorente
Makeup can be one more accessory to your personal image and
that's why we are going to explain to you step by step the most
flattering and easy trends so that this season you will be
beautiful.

MAKEUP

There are various flattering trends this season. On the one
hand, there is the natural look with earthy and gold tones, and
neutral tones for the eyes and transparent but shinny lips. On
the other hand, there is the sexier look with darker tones for
the eyes from navy blue to purple, and (don't forget black), and
dark sexy lips.

ADVICE: Choose a look that works for you and one that you feel
most comfortable with and follow the advice that we give you
below.

FOUNDATION

Give a touch of something pearlescent to your foundation and
you'll achieve a modern and flattering look.

ADVICE: Apply your foundation to the entire face. Once it has
been absorbed in to the skin, wait a few minutes for it to
absorb, apply a small amount of illuminating powder in the T
zone, forehead, cheekbones and chin. Blend it well with a brush
for a pearly but natural effect. The result, light satiny skin.

COVER UP

Brighten your look by using a light cover up which is lighter
than your skin tone over your foundation.

ADVICE: Blend it well around your eyes with your finger tip to
take away any excess. And that's it, a great look without bags
and full of life.

EYES

For a natural look, use browns and neutral tones.

ADVICE: Apply a golden tone on the upper eyelid to achieve the
look and give it a touch of light. If you want your eyes to have
a stronger look, use a dark brown pencil on the inner eye.

For a sexy look, use darker tones, the ones you like the most,
from navy blue to bottle green. Or if you like, use grays or
blacks.

ADVICE: Don't forget to put the darker color on your eyelid
putting a blended line next to the eye lashes and put makeup on
the outer eye with a black pencil. Lighten the eyelid just under
the eyebrow with a pearly or shinny white for a sexy arousing
look.

ESSENTIAL: Everyone notices mascara so curl your eyelashes
beforehand and use two cotes to give them volume.

CHEEKBONES

Give your cheekbones a healthy look with soft rosy natural
colors. ADVICE: Blend blush well with a clean brush and loose
powder on your cheekbones.

LIPS

If you want a natural look, or you have put too much lipstick
on, apply lip gloss for a juicy natural look.

ADVICE: Choose a lip gloss that also shines and protects your
lips.

On the other hand, if you want to forget the natural look, try a
passion red or a bright fuchsia. The result, sexy provocative,
but natural lips.

ADVICE: Use a well-sharpened lip pencil that is very similar to
your lipstick to outline your lips. Do this before applying
lipstick so that the color will last longer and it will be
easier to use darker tones.

THE FINAL TOUCH

Wash your hair with a rinse similar to the natural color of your
hair to make it brighter but without changing the color.

ADVICE: Ask you hairdresser. There are rinses that naturally
moisturize and give shine to the hair.

Apply Eyeliner Like A Professional

Author: Julia Brown
Many people think they already know how to apply eyeliner, and
by all rights, they do a good job. In actuality, there is a big
difference between the way you might apply eyeliner and the way
a professional make-up artist does. Use these easy-to-follow
steps and you can apply eyeliner like a professional make-up
artist:

1. Select your eyeliner

An eyeliner must be applied near the base of your eyelashes. As
there are varying products in the market such as cake eyeliner,
liquid liner and pencil eyeliner, it is important to try each
type so that you will know which type will best accentuate your
own natural beauty. Also, to whatever type you prefer, practice
the application so you can achieve a very fine line. Remember
that it is not a pretty sight when you apply eyeliner in a very
thick line. It will look harsh, at the same time loud, making
your eyes as well as giving it a tired and heavy impression.
Always bear in mind that a thin line is recommended - should you
have any trouble applying it, a brush is helpful to smooth out
the line and to blend it well.

Liquid eye liner.

Liquid eyeliners are recommended to be used and should only be
used above the top of the eye lashes, whereas an eye shadow or
an eye lining pencil is suggested to be used under the eyes
lower lashes. This kind comes usually in a bottle with an
application brush, almost similar to an ink. This requires great
precision during application, but can be perfected through
constant practice. A note to remember is to always let the
liquid dry before you open your eyes after application - if not,
the liquid may smear the top of your eyes and give you a raccoon
look.

Eye liner pencil

The easiest to use, works just like colored pencil. As the tip
of this liner is dry, it has a tendency of pulling your eyelids
fragile tissues; stretching the eyelids when lining it could
help a lot in achieving a smooth application. A note to
remember, you should always sharpen the pencil before every
application to eliminate any bacteria that has accumulated at
the tip.

Permanent eyeliner

This is can be created through cosmetic surgery. This procedure
is known as micro pigmentation, a technique that adds a defined
line to the lid which with a handheld device used to puncture
the skin several times a minute with a very thin needle that
pushes color pigments to the position that is desired.

2. Apply the eyeliner

- Begin at the inner corner of your eye. Always be certain to
use a light hand when applying your eyeliner, as the area around
the eyes is very sensitive and delicate.

- Put on your eyeliner only after you have already applied an
eye shadow. Doing it before an eye shadow application would only
cover the eyeliner.

- To achieve a dramatic and intense look, a kohl pencil with a
color can be applied above as well as below the lashes, and then
followed with black or very dark gray liquid eyeliner at the
top. This will give the impression of dark eye lashes and will
stay on for the whole day. A dark colored eyeliner will
highlight the eyes form and outline as well as give them a deep
look.

- While holding your head back facing the mirror, look down so
that your eyelids will become tight making it easier in applying
and controlling the liner. When necessary, smudge.

- The eyes will seem larger when you make a line with a pencil
under your lower lashes - instead try a dark eye shadow applied
with the help of a tiny makeup brush, to give an illusion of
darker and fuller eye lashes. Below such line, you need to apply
also a thin line with a lighter shade of eye shadow, preferably
white, yellow or beige to brighten up your eye area.

- Pencil liners may be used on both above the top lashes as well
as under the lower lashes. Liquid eye liners however, must only
be applied on the top lid. Cake eyeliners are applied with water
and may be put on to both the top and so too the bottom of the
lid.

- If you have beautiful green eyes, try putting on a violet
smoky pencil that will enhance your eyes, since basing from the
color wheel, violet and green are opposite, so they will
compliment each other.

- Refer to nature when you are in a process of deciding on a
color. Green, beige and burnt orange are autumn colors.

- Others prefer using an eye liner not only for the eyes, but
the lips as well. Should you decide on this, an eye lining
pencil will be most suitable for the application. Make sure
though, that you choose a certain shade of somewhat reddish
brown or orangey-brown or a brownish plum, to compliment and
flatter your lipstick.
